Job Opening
Undergraduate Research Assistant
"Face Tracking & Recognition in
Real-World Videos"
Description:
The popularity of video sharing sites such as YouTube and
Google Video continues to grow rapidly, but the tools for
automatic analysis of new video sources seriously lag
behind. You can now manually annotate your own and your
friends' videos, but how about automatically recognizing
who that celebrity in the video is or where those
interesting events appear in that "short" 20 minute
clip?
We are looking for an outstanding undergraduate student to
help us advance the state-of-the-art in face recognition in
real-world videos.
Qualifications:
The student, preferably a senior in CS/ECE/Math, should
have experience in or be willing to learn about computer
vision, pattern recognition and machine learning. He or she
should be a C/C++ coder with a working knowledge of Matlab
and/or Python. Familiarity with iPhone SDK is a
plus.
Pay:
This is an hourly position for Fall 2008 with a possibility
of continuation. The pay is negotiable, dependent on
experience. Minimum 10h/week, $15/hour.
Deadline for
applications:
September 15, 2008
