"Object Recognition on Mobile Devices"
Description:
Mobile devices are becoming increasing capable of
accomplishing astonishing tasks: combine GPS, compass and
video information to immerse its user in a virtual reality
where real objects such as buildings are labeled with
virtual tags identifying their role (e.g., a restaurant, a
particular bus stop or a store with items you may be
interested in). However, they still lack the ability to
more meaningfully process the video, identify objects on
the fly, recognize people’s faces.
We are looking for an outstanding undergraduate student to
help us advance the state-of-the-art in object recognition
on mobile devices.
Qualifications:
The student, preferably a senior in CS/ECE/Math, should
have experience in or be willing to learn about computer
vision, pattern recognition and machine learning. He or she
should have experience in C/C++. Working knowledge of the
iPhone SDK & Python is a plus.
Pay:
This is an hourly position for Fall 2009 with a possibility
of continuation. The pay is negotiable, dependent on
experience. Minimum 10h/week, $17/hour.
Deadline
for applications:
September 10, 2009
